Property & Evidence

The Davenport Police Department maintains property and evidence in accordance with department policy and applicable laws. This includes items collected as evidence in criminal investigations, found property, and items held for safekeeping. The Property & Evidence Section is responsible for securely storing and managing these items until they are eligible for release or disposal. When appropriate, property is returned to its rightful owner or disposed of in accordance with Florida law.

Lost and found items may be turned in to the Police Department and held until the owner is identified. While every effort is made to locate the rightful owner, unclaimed property will be held for 90 days before being disposed of in accordance with established procedures. Our goal is to return property to its rightful owner whenever possible. If you believe the department may be in possession of your property, please review the information below before requesting retrieval.
