Lake Play
Lake Play Park is one of Davenport’s most cherished community spaces, offering a peaceful setting for both recreation and relaxation. Visitors can fish at Lake Play, let children enjoy the playground, gather under shaded pavilions with picnic tables, or walk the scenic quarter-mile trail that circles the lake. Lake Play Park is located at 1 South Allapaha Avenue. Wildlife is part of the experience at Lake Play Park, where cranes, ducks, squirrels, turtles, fish, and a variety of native birds can often be seen throughout the park.
The Lake Play playground is dedicated to Bethel and Lillie Judy, honoring their lasting impact on Davenport’s community. Lillie Judy served as a City Commissioner and became the city’s first female mayor, and Bethel Judy served as Davenport’s Chief of Police and later as a City Commissioner.
Please note that Lake Play Park is currently closed for improvements as the playground is upgraded with a rubberized safety surface and shade covering to create an even more comfortable and accessible place for families to enjoy when it reopens.
