Lake Play
Lake Play Park is one of Davenport’s most cherished community spaces, offering a peaceful setting for both recreation and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy fishing at Lake Play, let children explore the playground, gather under shaded pavilions with picnic tables, or take a stroll along the scenic quarter-mile walking trail that circles the lake. Lake Play Park is located at 1 South Allapaha Ave.
The Lake Play Playground is dedicated to Bethel and Lillie Judy, honoring their lasting impact on Davenport’s community. Lillie Judy served as a City Commissioner and became the city’s first female mayor. Bethel Judy faithfully served as Davenport’s Chief of Police and later as a City Commissioner.
Wildlife is part of the experience at Lake Play Park. Cranes, ducks, squirrels, turtles, fish, and a variety of native birds can often be spotted throughout the park, adding to its natural charm.
