Building Department

The Building Official is responsible for the enforcement of regulations of codes, laws and ordinances pertaining to construction of buildings and other related structures. Responsibilities include establishing and carrying out the building inspection program and supervising the activities of subordinate Building Inspectors. The building official also performs inspection and plan review duties.

 

Contractor & Private Provider Registration Instructions

Send a PDF format copy of current State of Florida license (or licenses), proof of General Liability and Worker’s Compensation (or Work Comp Exemption) or Professional Liability for Private Providers in the form of a Certificate of Insurance showing the City of Davenport as certificate holder to: permitting@mydavenport.org

 

Citizen's Engagement Permit Submission Portal

Davenport citizens and licensed contractors may apply for permits through the City of Davenport’s online portal.  All required documents must be uploaded through our portal prior to permit review.

Missing documents will delay the review process.


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION – (required for all submissions) – must be signed by a licensed qualifier or an owner/builder and the signature must be notarized.  Property owned by a corporation (LLC or otherwise) must use a licensed contractor.

  • RE-ROOF - requires FL Product Approval #s for shingles, underlayment, and metal products. A completed and signed re-roof affidavit is required at final inspection.
  • HVAC - requires an AHRI Certificate of Product Ratings
  • ELECTRIC – detailed electrical riser diagram
  • WINDOWS/DOORS – requires FL Product Approval #s
  • ALUMINUM SCREEN ENCLOSURES & CARPORTS – requires FL Product Approval #s (and) site plan showing setbacks from property lines
  • SHEDS, PAVERS, SLABS – requires a site plan showing setbacks from property lines
  • POOLS – requires a site plan showing water’s edge and pool deck setbacks from all property lines

 

Public Permit Information and Contractor Portal

 Contractor Inspection Requests - A contractor code is required to request inspections. This code is assigned once a company is fully registered. Inspections may be requested in one three ways:

1) Through the above portal
2) via email at buildinginspections@mydavenport.org OR
