Wilson Park

Located at 5 State Street, Wilson Park is one of Davenport’s most welcoming community spaces.

The park features a splash pad, pavilions with picnic tables, benches, a large grassy area, and public restrooms. In 2025, Wilson Park underwent an expansion of the splash pad, enhancing this family-favorite attraction for even more fun and enjoyment.

Wilson Park is also home to the iconic Golden Holly sign, part of Polk County’s Citrus Label Tour. The Golden Holly label represents a brand once produced by Davenport’s own Holly Hill Groves and Holly Hill Fruit Products, honoring the city’s agricultural history.

At the base of the American flag, visitors will also find a monument dedicated to James R. Hendrix, a United States Army Congressional Medal of Honor recipient from Davenport. The inscription reads:
“This American flag is flown and dedicated in honor of James R. Hendrix, U.S. Army Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, WWII Battle of the Bulge, December 1944.”

Wilson Park continues to be a place where history, community, and recreation come together in the heart of Davenport.
