Lewis W. Mathews Sports Complex
The Lewis W. Mathews Memorial Sports Complex is a cornerstone of recreation in Davenport, currently undergoing major renovations that will feature state-of-the-art turf fields for baseball, softball, football, and multipurpose play.
Originally dedicated on August 28, 2006, the complex honors Lewis W. Mathews, a lifelong Davenport resident who dedicated countless hours to serving and mentoring the city’s youth. His legacy of leadership and commitment continues to inspire the community today.
The complex features multiple named fields that reflect the support and generosity of local residents and organizations:

Gene Carroll Memorial Field (Field 1) – Named in honor of Robert Eugene Carroll, a beloved recreational aide remembered for his service to Davenport’s youth.

Jarrett Gordon Ford Field (Field 2) – Dedicated to Jarrett Gordon Ford in recognition of their volunteer service and contributions toward facility improvements.

BCR Environmental Field (Field 3) – Named in appreciation of BCR Environmental’s contribution to upgrades at the complex.

Vince Williams Field (Football/Soccer) – Honoring professional football player Vince Williams for his dedication to Davenport’s youth and his support of facility improvements.
