Golf Cart Registration Program

The City of Davenport allows the operation of golf carts within the boundaries of the city limits as outlined in Chapter 11, Article IV of the City Codes. All golf carts operated on city streets must be registered and inspected annually by a member of the Police Department. Only the golf cart owner can register the golf cart. A $10 fee is required for the annual registration.

 

Registration must be renewed by January 1st of each calendar year after the initial registration occurs. Properly registered golf carts must have a decal affixed to the front drivers side fender of the golf cart prior to operation on city streets.

 

Golf carts operated on city streets must be equipped with the following properly operating equipment:

    • Efficient braking system
    • Reliable steering apparatus
    • Safe tires
    • Review mirror
    • Red reflectorized warning devices in both the front and rear
    • A manufacturer’s serial number plate
    • Equipment required during operation after sunset and before sunrise:
      • Headlights
      • Brake lights
      • Turn signals
      • Windshield
