How Does Zoning Relate to Land Use?

The Future Land Use Plan indicates the land use designation assigned to real property. The policies governing land use are outlined in the Comprehensive Plan, the supporting document for the Land Use Plan. The regulations, which implement the policies of the Future Land Use Plan, are located in the Land Development Regulations, which also includes the official Zoning Map. The Land Development Regulations outlines the various zoning districts that are appropriate, given the Land Use designation for a particular site. The Zoning designation for a particular site must be consistent with the designated Land Use. Is my property in the City of Davenport?

Even though you may have a Davenport address, your property may not be within the City Limits

To determine if a property is located in the City limits, please search the Polk County Property Appraiser's website (www.polkpa.org) and conduct a property or map search, you can use a parcel ID number, which is a 18 digit number or zoom to the area desired. Once the property is found, click on the data tab and the parcel info will be available. Look for the Taxing District, this indicates which jurisdiction the property is located, Davenport or Unincorporated Polk County.
