Auxiliary Reserve
The Davenport Fire Department Auxiliary Program is a non-paid volunteer program. The program is designed for individuals interested in providing community services that reduce property loss caused by fire, hazardous situations, injuries, deaths, and other emergencies. Auxiliary firefighters provide essential functions that assist the department and the residents of Davenport. Auxiliary personnel participate in training classes, community events, department drills, and emergency response.
Auxiliary Reserve personnel can only assist with fire and emergency medical scene activities which are outside the IDLH atmospheres, hot zones, and inner action circle.
Personnel assigned to the Davenport Fire Department Auxiliary must document a minimum of fifteen (15) training hours per month and respond to at least six (6) emergency dispatched calls. The call number will be used to track these calls on the individual’s monthly tracking sheet. Training hours may be substituted for emergency dispatched calls for up to two (2) calls per month, with three (3) hours of training documented up to six (6) hours.
